I am a CRNA with a BSN and MSN from a major university in PA.  I am wondering if anyone has any information about nurses that make the transition into medicine?  I have taken many science courses that were based in nursing.  I am wondering if these credits satisfy the requirements for acceptance into medical school.

We have a few RNs in our class. They seem to have an advantage in many areas with their strong background in medicine; however, they sometimes struggle with the sciences. The nurses are sometimes a bit removed from the time that they last took many of the science classes and that can be a bit of a struggle.

To know if your credits will be accepted you will need to look at individual school policies. Everyone has their own way of determining what is okay and what is not. I would check the websites of the schools you are interested in.

I think you will have a hard time going from advanced practice nursing to physician, not because you are incapable, but because admissions committees will wonder why you are leaving your masters degree to pursue a medical degree (believe me i know CRNA school is extremely competitive to get into)
