As we approach residency application and interview season, this is an exciting time for fourth year medical students.  Students with an interest in excellent clinical exposure, strong didactics, a team approach to training and a tropical climate should consider the outstanding resources available at the Palm Beach Centre for Graduate Medical Education (PBCGME).

Based in Palm Beach County, Florida, PBCGME is a multi-facility academic medical center that spans four hospitals affiliated with HCA Healthcare, the nation's largest provider.  The sponsoring facility is Columbia Hospital, and base facilities include Palms West Hospital, St. Lucie Medical Center and University Hospital and Medical Center.  Training partners include the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center, Plantation General Hospital, Miami Children’s Hospital, the University of Miami and St. Mary’s Medical Center.

The financial strength of our hospitals, coupled with a team-oriented academic environment, has provided PBCGME with the resources to foster quality resident training programs. With a history of excellence in osteopathic medical education spanning more than 25 years, PBCGME is fortunate to have program leadership comprised of former PBCGME graduates. Faculty members are selected using rigorous criteria, and held to high standards.

Located within close driving distance of Miami and Orlando, South Florida offers the best of everything. A tropical climate, moderated all year by the soothing breezes of the Gulfstream, is enhanced by excellent public schools, pristine beaches, a variety of outdoor activities and the availability of a wide range of cultural activities, ranging from star-studded concerts and Broadway shows, to world-class college and professional sports teams.

With well over 100 AOA-accredited residency training positions, PBCGME currently offers rotating internships and residency programs in:

  • Traditional Rotating Internship

  • Dermatology

  • Emergency Medicine

  • Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics

  • Internal Medicine

  • Palliative Care

  • Pediatrics

  • Psychiatry
